Reviews
Everything we have bought at this bakery has been delicious and all the flavors are super unique which I love. Recently had the Yakult cheesecake and that was fresh, creamy and really tasty. We also got one of the Christmas themed cakes- the strawberry pistachio one, and not only is it beautiful but its also delicious and packaged so nicely complete with candles and plates. The price for it at $38 is also super fair and we even got a complimentary drink when we purchased, which was a lovely surprise. Service here is always so friendly and helpful and it’s also a nice place to sit for a bit and enjoy your sweets if you have time.
First off, this place is known online for having “not to sweet sweets.” This description is entirely accurate. The Ube puff pastry was even bordering on too savory. My favorite thing was the sesame cheesecake, which had a smooth texture and rich sesame flavor. The prices are okay, and the service is top notch. Many of the workers are bilingual and even offered me some nougat which was also really good.
Definitely a five star location. Super delicious pastry and cakes especially anything ube flavored. Taro tea is on point. We ordered dessert to go and everything was neatly and nicely packed. Definitely going back to try more of the deserts.
Service was pleasant and quick. The food was subpar. I ordered the following:
Black sesame latte (way too sweet, even for my sweet tooth)
Black sesame puff (it was the last one in the display, it was not crisp and the sesame filling was hardened), and
Chocolate dream (dark chocolate coating with nuts tasted fine, but the inside was a very dry/crumbly golden cake -- strangely not living up to its "chocolate dream" namesake, the chocolate cream inside was tasteless, and was combined with this sour citrus-like flavored cream that was not to my liking -- at least I am hoping that was what it is and not cream that had soured and gone bad!!).
I would not recommend this place for pastries, but possibly for a quick coffee or unsweetened drink with friends.
Asian cake shop in flushing. The desserts here aren't very sweet which I like but those who have a sweet tooth might be left craving more sweets.
Taro cake ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: always appreciate real taro over powdered taro in desserts and drinks. You can really taste the creaminess of the taro.
Earl gray sesame ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: would say it tastes like 90% black sesame and 10% earl gray but I'm a big fan of black sesame so 5 stars for me. I believe it's black sesame cake with earl gray cream
It’s a small place, but it’s very clean. There were numerous cake and bubble tea options to choose from. The only aspect I didn’t appreciate about this place was that the staff seemed a bit grumpy. Besides that, it was a delightful experience.
I was lured in by the numerous instagram reels of this place, and it lived up to the hype! It’s a cute dessert shop with a good amount of seats and outlets as well.
⊹ The mango shaved ice was refreshing for a hot summer day, and they had cute little star shaped jellies in it!
⊹ My favorite is the strawberry basque cheesecake though! Not only was it instaworthy, it was loaded with strawberries and not too sweet!
⊹ My friend got the tiramisu and it was good, but about 80% of it was cream… wish there was more cake.
Overall, it’s a nice and cozy dessert shop! Can’t wait to come by again!
Sweet Cake has been on my radar since its opening, and now I regret not trying this spot earlier.
* Sesame Earl Grey Chiffon Cake
The sesame flavor really stood out, while you can still taste the earl grey glaze on top throughout every bite. Even though the pricing is aggressive comparing to other bakeries, the slice was so huge that we were already stuffed after eating this cake.
* Mixed Fruit Sparkling, Orange and Pineapple Smoothie
Don’t sleep on their drinks! We were amazed by the refreshing and natural sweetness of fruits. The smoothie had a great balance of orange and pineapple juice. I was sure that they used real fruits because I could drink orange seeds and peels lol. Remember to ask for less sugar!
* Strawberry Yakult Cheesecake
The cake looked cute and aesthetic. The outside seemed to be simply whipped cream, and the inner was blueberry cheesecake. Perhaps I’m not a fan of cheesecake, I found it quite bland and lacked excitement. The yakult flavor could be tasted in the cream layers but nearly invisible. If they charged $11.99 I wish they could put more strawberries in it.
* Ube Mooncake, Cheese Mooncake, Pineapple Cakes
We were excited to redeem two pineapple cakes (鳳梨酥). Their owner even treated us extra free ube and cheese mooncakes! I really enjoyed the ube mooncake as it has sweet potato filling sandwiched in between.
